Arabic Program

arabic at vcu

The Arabic Language Program at VCU welcomes you to the School of World Studies!

The Arabic language faculty strives to provide a foundation based upon the knowledge of grammar, reading, writing, acute aural detection, and, eventually, speaking. As a final part of the curriculum, the student interacts with native members of multiple Arabic communities in order to experience a part of the original cultures. We then hope that the students will travel to study the Arabic world so as to create mutual cultural understanding and appreciation.

*Please be advised that no substitutes will be permitted for the required 300-level Arabic course. You should plan your course of study appropriately to take a 300 level Arabic course during the fall or spring semester as 300 level Arabic courses are rarely if ever offered in the summer.
