VCU professors Wood and Bromley

The Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies offers a flexible program of interdisciplinary courses. In addition to courses on major Eastern and Western traditions, students can study new religious and spiritual traditions. Our curriculum explores the artistic, ethical, literary, psychological, and social dimensions of religions, as well as the influence of religions on sexuality, gender, race, health, ecology, public policy, and social justice. We emphasize excellence in written, oral, and visual interpretation and communication, critical thinking, informed conversation, and a global perspective that encourages experiential learning through study abroad and community engagement. With endowed chairs in Judaic Studies and Catholic Studies, and a growing community of dedicated faculty, the VCU Religious Studies program in the School of World Studies is a perfect place to study religion.
