2018 Student Research Conference This Week

several students stand with their posters for the 2015 Student Research Conference Presented by VCU’s School of World Studies, the 2018 Student Research Conference is only days away and promises to showcase amazing undergraduate scholarship as well as a powerful keynote speaker.

The conference will be held on Thursday and Friday, November 8 and 9 in the VCU Student Commons and features over 60 student presentations on topics ranging from the micro-culture of Catalonia, Spain to gentrification in Richmond. View the full program here.

The conference begins with student presentations at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 8 and concludes with a local activist panel at 1 p.m. the following day. Michael Fischbach, professor of history at Randolph-Macon College, will deliver the keynote address at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, November 8 in the Commonwealth Ballroom. Fischbach is the author of “Black Power and Palestine” and a MacArthur grant recipient.

The Student Research Conference is free and open to the public.
