March 11, 2019

As part of this year’s French Film Festival, VCU’s Institute for Contemporary Art state-of-the art auditorium will be home to  eight free master classes with the Festival’s creative talent. Held on Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 29, these classes offer insight into the art of filmmaking directly from professionals actors, producers and screenwriters themselves.

The master classes are informative not only with regards to the crafts involved in making cinema but also how to understand and critique this art form. The classes are tied into not only to the films being shown in the Byrd Theatre but also into core human values such  social justice and children’s rights.

Attendance is free and made further accessible through the use of simultaneous interpretation headsets in English so that non-French speakers can participate in the discussion. View the full schedule of classes and register to attend here.
