Research Interests

Tim Luckritz Marquis, Ph.D., is Associate Director for VCU Convergence, a transdisciplinary research and education initiative out of the Office of the Provost, as well as an adjunct instructor in the Religious Studies program. As a Religious Studies scholar, he is drawn to interdisciplinary approaches to research and teaching and seeks to foster it in his own work as well as in the work of his students and colleagues. His academic interests include:

• Ancient history (focusing on ancient Judaism and Christian origins)
• Roman mobility and migration
• Queer theory
• Political theology
• Postcolonial studies
• Black Studies
• Cross-functional collaboration
